MediaPlatform Unveils Next Generation Enterprise Video Platform

Delivers Power to Convert Static Corporate Webcasts into Dynamic Multimedia and Interactive Live Productions; New Technology Foundation Leverages Cloud-Native Architecture, Modern UX

LOS ANGELES, CA—June 11, 2019 – MediaPlatform today announced availability of its next generation enterprise video platform, the culmination of a more than two-year re-design that combines the development agility, scalability and elasticity of cloud technologies, exciting new UI/UX innovations and live event production and audience engagement innovations.

A core component of the new platform is MediaPlatform® Broadcaster, a redesign of the company’s WebCaster live webcasting platform. Designed for business broadcasts – high stakes, premium-production quality events such as CEO Town Halls, Tech Symposia, User Groups and more – Broadcaster gives producers easy-to-use, browser- based multimedia production capabilities with enterprise-class security and reliability.

Broadcaster event producers can use simple, widget-based design tools to create a series of custom layouts – adding, resizing or overlaying elements such as video, slides, images, text or Q&A – that they can dynamically toggle between during live events. Producers also can add or change layouts on the fly, inserting interactive elements at key presentation points to gauge audience interest, understanding and sentiment.

With the launch of its new platform, the company also debuts the MediaPlatform® Event Success Dashboard (ESD), a real-time analytics tool that lets business broadcasters monitor in real time how audiences are reacting to webcast content. The ESD Audience Sentiment widget can be brought into a Broadcaster live event to allow viewers to register sentiment votes using intuitive emoticons. After the event, corporate communications teams can track aggregate sentiment scores and can replay the recorded video from points where sentiment scores significantly rise or fall.

When combined with MediaPlatform® Video Business Intelligence, which lets network operations teams monitor and remedy real-time network quality of service issues, event and technical teams receive a multi-layered view of live event quality and audience
engagement levels.

The new capabilities enable corporate event producers to deliver media and entertainment-like live event experiences to employees, partners, prospects and investors. Rather than the traditional static layouts used in corporate webcasting for years – screen share/audio or video/slides – event producers can use continually changing visuals and pop-up interactive elements to captivate, stimulate and entertain audiences.

“We are exclusively focused on enabling our Global 2000 customers with ‘business broadcasting’ capabilities – a premium live webcasting category that executives can trust for secure, high-impact communications that bring their global workforces together,” said Mike Newman, CEO of MediaPlatform. “We are proud to deliver this innovative new platform with exciting and unique live event capabilities that give customers even greater creative control over the experiences they deliver to their audiences.”

The new platform carries over MediaPlatform’s end-to-end enterprise video capabilities– including exceptional live event scale and reliability, video content management and security, technology-agnostic and redundant video delivery and real-time live event analytics – onto a cloud-native architecture capable of tapping the best of available cloud services. The new architecture improves overall platform performance and enables the company to accelerate feature development using cloud and reusable technologies.

On the front end, MediaPlatform’s new UI/UX delivers a fresh and modern experience for end viewers and event admins alike. Using Google Material Design principles – such as grid-based layouts, responsive animation and depth effects – and ReactJS, users have a streamlined, consistent and intuitive experience across the board.

MediaPlatform’s next generation platform includes the MediaPlatform Broadcaster live webcasting platform, MediaPlatform® On Demand video content management portal, MediaPlatform’s video delivery capabilities – including its Smartpath network overlay rules engine for management of failover and redundancy across multiple vendor technologies and the MediaPlatform® Edge eCDN, and MediaPlatform’s real-time analytics suite including the Event Success Dashboard and VBI.
