Frost & Sullivan Names MediaPlatform the Product Leader in Enterprise Video Platforms

MediaPlatform’s comprehensive product line focuses on the seamless ingest, management and delivery of secure and scalable video in enterprises of all sizes

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — December 15th, 2015 — Based on its recent analysis of the enterprise video platforms market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes MediaPlatform with the 2015 Global Frost & Sullivan Product Leadership Award. MediaPlatform’s ability to provide a comprehensive platform for enterprises to power live and on-demand video for internal as well as external use cases, the strength of its video distribution capabilities, and the intuitive and user-friendly nature of its solution have made it a leader in the enterprise video platform market. Its integration with complementary enterprise technologies to help extend the use of video in the world’s top companies has made it a clear favorite among enterprises all over the world.

MediaPlatform’s core products are WebCaster and PrimeTime. WebCaster is an enterprise webcasting platform that enables organizations to easily produce and distribute interactive live webcasts, PrimeTime is an enterprise video portal that functions as a corporate YouTube and is home of all on-demand content, web conference recordings and archived webcasts. WebCaster and PrimeTime form a fully integrated video solution that powers CEO town halls, employee all hands, e-learning, field sales training, marketing, as well as partner and investor communications. MediaPlatform products and services help enterprises drive down costs, enhance productivity and decrease time-to-market.

“MediaPlatform’s differentiating media delivery solution, SmartPath, offers enterprises the unique ability to webcast to virtually any end user, regardless of location or content distribution technology,” said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Anisha Vinny. “It aids pervasive streaming of presentations across any type of delivery scenario by providing a framework to define the particular set of media distribution and failover rules that best fit an organization.”

“This award caps another successful year for the MediaPlatform team, as we continue to solidify our position as the top enterprise video and live streaming platform for organizations across all verticals,” said Jim McGovern, CEO MediaPlatform. “Frost & Sullivan has consistently produced some of the most well-researched coverage of the enterprise video content management industry and we are honored to receive this recognition. We feel our product vision, stable executive leadership and strong financials put MediaPlatform at the top of the list for any company evaluating enterprise video solutions and this award is confirmation.”

MediaPlatform also offers an enterprise Content Delivery Network (eCDN),  focused on the acceleration and optimization of live and on-demand HTTPS video delivery across corporate networks. Called SmartEdge, the MediaPlatform eCDN can perform video pre-positioning, intelligent video caching, byte range caching, and supports adaptive bitrate streaming. It can be administered from PrimeTime and is easy to use, unlike the more complex solutions, such as Riverbed.

A key area of focus for MediaPlatform is the improvement of quality of experience (QoE) analytics for live webcasts. MediaPlatform Video Business Intelligence provides real-time feedback regarding the quality of viewer experience and can be used as a troubleshooting tool. This analytics dashboard presents insights to webcast producers to proactively understand the origin of problems during a broadcast. Customers can also use cross-project views that offer thorough analytics of more than one webcast, facilitating comparison between events.

Meanwhile, in response to the rise in the usage of video conferencing technology, MediaPlatform recently introduced a session initiation protocol (SIP) video conferencing gateway named SmartBridge. With SmartBridge, MediaPlatform enables streaming of videoconferences to audiences of unlimited size with WebCaster, with PrimeTime serving as the portal for managing all videoconference recordings. SmartBridge provides organizations with a solution for leveraging their existing video conferencing units and MCUs as convenient video sources for content creation. Additionally, MediaPlatform integrates with a slew of popularly used enterprise technologies to extend the reach of its solution.

To enhance search and discovery, MediaPlatform offers speech-to-text for all video content and system-wide transcript searching, which allows viewers to jump to specific points in a video or on-demand webcast. The platform allows users outside the company’s firewall to log in to view content if permissions are granted. Customers now derive greater value because the same platform can be used for three user categories when user registration is enabled—employees, partners and public.

MediaPlatform’s desire to truly make video a staple content type in enterprises is commendable. Its vertical-agnostic solutions are being eagerly adopted by the largest, most global organizations, making the company truly deserving of the top honors in Product Leadership.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed a product with innovative features and functionality, gaining rapid acceptance in the market. The award recognizes the quality of the solution and the customer value enhancements it enables.
